Move: Maryland to Vegas

The first time I moved across the country (NY to CA) I found ABF and it was great. This time around, I found movingscam.com and found out about full-service movers, and decided to give Moovers Inc. a shot... here is my story.

Jayson Berger came to my place and did a complete in-home estimate and sent me a binding estimate promptly. It was a competitive quote, especially for such a large move. They were true to their word in the end; the weight of our load was 600 pounds over the estimate, but I was only charged for what I was quoted. (We were only in a 2BR/2BA apartment but we have heavy furniture and lots of books.)

I moved on April 19 from Sunnyvale, CA to Canonsburg, PA (near Pittsburgh) and Mike and Will were the drivers/movers on both ends. There were two other gentlemen from Moovers Inc. who accompanied them to wrap all my things in blankets and plastic wrap. Only a bookcase was damaged in the move, which, quite frankly, was fantastic - I've moved cross-country before and had much more damage. They inventoried everything I owned so that I knew that everything that was put on the truck made it to me in PA.

These guys are patient, helpful, completely and utterly polite, and best of all, knowledgeable in what they do. They have the tools to do an efficient job and they don't give the run-around. I just completed a cross country move from Maryland to Vegas and could not be more pleased. Like many others I was apprehensive about hiring a moving company based so far away however took the advice from previous customers and I am very glad I did. The customer service from Anthony in the office was very good and he answered all my questions without hesitation. The inventory sheet was straightforward and I must caution everyone to be very accurate when filling out this sheet. Not only is your estimated price based on the inventory but the loading of the actual truck is also based on how many items you will have for your move. Many times the truck will haul more than one customer's goods and so you have to be honest about how much "stuff" you've got. That being said, Moovers price cannot be beat and even if it could, their customer service is second to none. Mike was my driver and he contacted me continuously throughout the move and was not bothered at all if I called him, as a matter of fact he enjoyed keeping me advised on the progress of my goods. The loading and unloading on both ends was done promply and efficiently with no broken or missing items. Mike arrived for the loading right on time (actually 15 min early!), then pulled into Vegas exactly when he said he would. How he gets it so exact is beyond me but that is how good this company is. The crew was very careful on both ends not to bang into any walls or anything else and they wrapped all the furniture with lots of padding, more than I would have expected. The bottom line is Moovers is an excellent company with an excellent reputation and if I have to move again, I would not bother contacting anybody else and would use Moovers again.
