Client: Nancy
Date: June 2006
Move: Northern California to Northern Colorado

In early June I contacted Moovers to get an estimate for moving my things from northern California to northern Colorado. On June 12, 2006 Jayson Berger came to the house and gave me an estimate for moving my furniture, packed boxes, and for having Moovers pack my fragile dishes and glassware.

He provided a binding estimate, guaranteed not to exceed $4,915.00 for 7,245 pounds, with a minimum of 6,500 pounds. Included in this amount was basic insurance coverage of $0.60 per pound. Moovers does offer additional coverage at an additional cost. Jayson suggested that I contact my home owners insurance company to find out what they would cover as part of my regular policy. It turns out that they would cover any damage not due to negligence at no additional cost.

Since my load was relatively small for a huge moving van I was told that there would be a 10-day window for delivery after my things were loaded on the van. We also discussed the logistics of getting an 18-wheeler in place in front of my house on a somewhat busy street. Jayson decided that the best thing was to schedule the pick-up for a Saturday morning, July 29, 2006.

I accepted and signed Moovers' contract in mid-June. Their contract is one page long, written in plain English! This is indicitive of the straightforward way that Moovers deals with everything.

In early July I sent an email to Moovers asking if we were still on schedule for the July 29 pick-up. Matt quickly responded with a "Yes." The week before the move date, I sent another email asking if they had any idea when I my things might be delivered in Colorado. Jayson told me that it looked like delivery would be on August 2. But, that would not be certain until I talked with the driver.

Knowing that there was a good chance that my things would arrive quickly, I was able to pack some items that I had planned to take in the car. This made a big difference because my car is small.

Patrick, the driver, and a great crew arrived Saturday morning. Patrick confirmed the August 2 delivery date and I packed even more things that no longer needed to be in the car because I would not be camping out waiting for the van. The crew packed up fragile items that were located in three rooms. All my furniture was wrapped and sealed in blankets. I could easily see that my furniture, including my grandfather's roll-top desk, was being handled with great care. Before I knew it, the house was empty!

During the drive to Colorado, Patrick and I checked in with each other via cell phone. We were both on schedule for the August 2nd delivery.

As promised, Patrick drove up to my house in Colorado at 9:00 a.m. on August 2nd. Everything was unloaded and placed exactly where I wanted it go. Every tagged item was accounted for, nothing was missing. My furniture arrived in pristine condition. Patrick assembled furniture. We went through the house and he asked if I wanted anything moved to another place.

From my first contact with Moovers, I felt like I could trust them. They came through with everything promised. I would not hesitate to contact Moovers again. An added bonus is that both my cat and dog really liked Patrick! Definitely a good sign.

Thanks,

Nancy
