1/17/06 - I just wanted to post about a great experience I just finished with Moovers , Inc. I've been living in New York City for the past 8 months, however the bulk of my belongings (all my furniture + more) were in the bay area being stored at my friend's house. I finally found a fulltime apartment here and called up Delancey Street and Moovers , Inc. in order to move the rest of my stuff to New York.

Delancey's truck going east was already full so I turned to Moovers . Jayson was great to work with and really responsive as I was trying to coordinate the pickup from my friend's house while I wasn't in town. I gave Jayson a description of all my items, he e-mailed the the contract with a GNTE and I faxed it back. By Friday of that week (January 6) my items were picked up from Mountain View, CA.

I was going to be out of town the weekend of January 13 and Keith and Jack (the drivers) were very helpful about coordinating the dropoff. The timing worked out very well with some pickups they were doing in New Jersey and Keith and Jack showed up right on time Tuesday, January 17 (just over a week later!). Actually they even showed up early .

The unloading was very smooth. I'm in a studio on a 4th floor walkup so they had their work cut out for them. Nothing was damaged at all. The item checklist was incredibly detailed and they got everything done in less than 3 hours.

Great great experience. I plan to recommend these guys to everyone I know in the bay area and folks moving East to West/West to East. . . .

1/18/06 - My over-the-phone estimate to Jayson came to just about 2000 lbs (it probably was a little bit less than this, but Moovers' minimum is 2000 lbs). My quote was for $2009 - there was a potential for $200 more if their truck couldn't fit on my street and Keith and Jack had to rent a shuttle truck. However that turned out not to be necessary.
